Our ship's first port stop was in Progresso. I took a shore excursion to Chichen-Itza which means "mouth of the well of the Itza people." It is an acheological site of Mayan Ruins. It was very interesting. We learned that inside the big pyramid is another pyramid. We couldn't climb on the pyramid or go inside because someone fell off a couple of months ago and ruined it for everyone else. Anyway, I also got to see the ball court and the place where human sacrifices were made. One of the best things about the tour to Chichen-Itza was the tour guide, Carlos. He was hilarious. He called all of us friends and made all sorts of jokes.
